Demonstration of a person falling when using fall protection gear.

The demonstration took place during one or our monthly company wide safety meetings.

The instructor is demonstrating the importance of selecting the proper safety fall arrest gear. A 200 lb person falling only six feet can generate up to 5,000 lbs of force.

The following pictures were taken at a job on one of the casino boats. As required by OSHA when working over water, we placed a safety monitor in a boat below the work area.
